When asked-> What is the minimum tractor weight for safe operating the FDMs?
Answer: In my opinion-> "Sorry, that question is impossible to have a "black and white" answer. There are just way to many factors like tractor width, two wheel or front wheel drive, with or without front end loader installed, ballast in front and/or rear tires, with or without suitcase weights, etc to determine the safe operating factors. Example: we have many customers very happy using the FDM-165s with larger sub-compacts equipped lots of different ways.
Personally, if I were buying for my use; I'd offer a scale that recommends the tractor weight should be at least 3 to 4 times more than the three point hitch mounted implement weight. So it would look something like this:
