L Series – Standard Tractor

The new standard L-Series lineup is comprised of 5 models: the L2800 and L3400 with a gear-drive transmission, the L2800 and L3400 with an HST transmission and the high powered L4400 with a gear-drive transmission. New HST Transmission


The new L3400 Hydrostatic Transmission model (HST) is highly productive and easy to operate. The 3-Range transmission allows for optimal and infinite speed selection. A single pedal, for both speed and forward/reverse, utilizes the smooth clutchless operation of the transmission. The new I-Type Shift Lever Pattern enables easy range shifting from low to medium to high. Operating a tractor has never been easier.

         Transmission


Get the job done faster with more horsepower and a mechanical shuttle transmission. For easier front-loader operation, the range shift has a forward/reverse mechanical shuttle shift in the low and reverse ranges. Moreover, the transmission offers 8 forward and 4 reverse speeds, enabling you to select the perfect speed for higher productivity.


 

Engine

To elevate your performance to a new level, Kubota has increased the horsepower on both of their world-renowned E-TVCS diesel engines.

 

 

CRUISE CONTROL


Mechanical cruise control is a standard feature on the L2800 and L3400 HST models. For an easy way to keep your working speed constant regardless of terrain simply set the infinite mechanical cruise control lever to your desired speed. Changing your speed is as simple as operating a single lever.

 

 

Radiator Reserve Tank/Oil Cooler
(HST Model Only)

These two features provide an extra measure of protection for the HST Models, especially on extremely hot days.

 

Wet-Disc Brakes

Responsive and smooth, the long-life wet-disc brakes are immersed in oil and require only the slightest foot pressure to activate.

 

Smooth Power Steering

 

To reduce fatigue, both 2WD & 4WD models come equipped with smooth, easy-turn, integral power steering.

 

Large Fuel Tank

An ample 9-gallon fuel tank lets you fill up with more fuel so you can operate longer.

 

Bevel Gear 4WD

A superior feature that delivers an extremely tight turning radius with full power transfer to the wheels at every steering angle.

 

Spacious Semi-Flat Deck

To provide maximum comfort, the operator’s platform has been redesigned, increasing the platform space by a generous 12%. Its semi-flat design also makes getting on and off the tractor much easier.

 

Entry/Exit Step

An Entry/Exit Step, standard on the L Series, enables easy access to and from the operator area.

  

Conveniently Located PTO Lever

To further enhance entry/exit, the PTO lever is located on the right side of the operator’s seat on the HST Model, or to the right side of the deck center cover on the gear-drive model.

 

Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS)

For maximum protection, all Standard L Series models come with ROPS as standard features. A foldable ROPS is also available as a factory option.

 

3-Point Hitch

The large capacity hydraulic pump and cylinder provide powerful lifting capacity, allowing you to use a wider range of implements.

 

Top Link Holder

A feature that keeps your top link in place when not in use.

 

Cup Holder

A new design securely holds either a cup or a mug.

  

Choice of Tires

High Torque Rise

Thanks to the reliable E-TVCS engine, the Grand L40 delivers increased airflow to its combustion chamber, where it mixes evenly with fuel from the fuel injection nozzle. This efficient system provides the user with a sustained higher torque rise, under heavy loads and at lower speeds, for optimum performance.

Low Noise and Vibration

The advanced engine design of the                        Grand L40 reduces noise and vibration levels, which helps diminish operator fatigue. This is extremely helpful when working long hours. In fact, Grand L40 engine noise and vibration levels are significantly lower than those of competitors' conventional direct injection systems.

 

 

HST-Plus Transmission

 

 Hi-Low selector. Provides 2 speeds in Low, Medium & High Ranges. total of 6 speeds. Can be done manually or automatically with the HST Mode Control feature.

  

HST Mode Control. Operator can choose between 3 options

Manual Mode. Automatic features are not engaged

Stall Guard Mode.  Transmission will sense engine burden and prevent it from stalling

Stall Guard & Auto H-DS Mode. In addition to Stall Guard, provides automatic Hi/Low shifting as needed to maintain constant torque.   

 

HST Response Control… Allows operator to vary the response of the HST operation. Many operators prefer a fast response when using the loader and slower response for other tasks. 

Auto Throttle Advance. When engaged, the engine throttle is linked to the hydrostatic pedal. This is especially useful when moving between locations or when towing a trailer.

Standard Indicators

Kubota’s standard indicators display the Grand L40’s current operating status, hour meter reading, traveling speed and PTO speed – all in universally recognizable and easy-to-read symbols. With one touch of the Standard Indicator’s Menu button, you can change the panel’s display to better manage tractor productivity, efficiency and safety.

 

Warning Indicators

To keep the tractor running smoothly, the Grand L40 IntelliPanel operates as an on-board diagnostic display system. Engine, fuel, temperature and oil warning indicators will activate when service is needed.

 

 

Scheduled Service Alert

Tilt Steering Wheel

The Grand L40's tilt steering wheel delivers    an extra-wide tilt angle for maximum comfort. You simply need to step on the adjustment pedal, tilt the steering wheel to select your ideal position, and lock for the most comfortable operating position. Step on the pedal again to unlock the wheel for easy tractor mounting and dismounting.

 

PTO and Hydraulics

 

Mid-PTO (Optional)

Kubota offers a semi-independent Mid-PTO for all Grand L40s that can be used with a variety of performance-matched mid-mount mowers, snow blowers or sweeper brooms.

 

Telescopic Lower Link Ends

A wide range of implements can be used with the 3-Point Hitch. Quick and simple hook-ups can be achieved via the standard-equipped telescopic lower link ends.

Front Loader Hydraulic Valve

Kubota has designed an integral Front Loader Valve as part of the tractor. With this valve, you can quickly and easily attach the front loader and other front-mounted implements. The valve promotes efficient, clutter-free operation and matches the sleek styling of the tractor. If you don't require a front loader or other front-mounted implements, an optional Diverter Kit is available to allow the loader valves to function as rear remotes.

Hydraulic Cylinder

The Grand L40's 2-tandem large hydraulic cylinder delivers an impressive 3-Point Hitch lift capacity. The system is externally mounted for easy maintenance.

 

 

 

 

Remote Hydraulic Control Valves (Optional)

The Grand L40 can include three Remote Hydraulic Control Valves for a greater selection of hydraulically powered implements. For operators, this versatile system translates into a convenient and cost-efficient alternative.

 

 

 

 

4-Wheel Drive
